Process Skills and Strategies for Teaching the AP U.S. History Course

This workshop is designed to enhance disciplinary strategies, process skills and techniques used by AP U.S. History teaches to develop student

content knowledge, promote critical thinking, social studies literacy and technical application skills around the following themes and concept from the chronological periods from approximately 1491 to the present. The course is based on 19 thematic learning objectives (refer to course and exam descriptions). Teachers will learn how to use a thematic learning objective/time period chart to facilitate lesson design and planning.
